The project is slated for the 47 acres immediately upriver from the Convention Center that is owned by the New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority. The acreage is bounded generally by Henderson Street to the north, Tchopitulas Street to the west, Orange Street to the South and the flood wall of the Mississippi River to the East. Not owned by the Authority but expected to be an important element of the project is redevelopment of the historic power plant.
The project will link the French Quarter, Central Business District and the Warehouse District with the popular Magazine Street shopping dining and entertainment district. Within a 10 mile radius of the site are several thousand residents who have long been underserved for retail, dining and entertainment options.
